A diverse genus in the family ranuculaceae. We include here varieties of Anemone nemorosa, our native windflower. While nothing can surpass its simple beauty, the varieties add interest and make good companions to Hellebores, primroses and pulmonarias in the shade garden. Included are other wood anemones with a similar growth habit. They all enjoy a cool partly shaded root run, either light woodland or part-shaded by buildings. Addition of leaf mould or composted bark to the soil is beneficial.
Often sold as bare rhizomes which look like small twigs, we offer our plants in 9cm pots, either in growth or dormant following a period of rooting.
